I was in CO when the dot com imploded. Our office in CO was a very tight knit group similar to this group here and just like the Madison group, we got shut down overnight. It was a devastating news. CO was full of high tech companies back then and at one point, over 1500 engineers were on the street in the Boulder area.
Anyway, a small group of us got together once a week and shared tips, leads, or general support. It was good until I moved back to MN (and eventually came here). Should we do something similar here? I know that a few of us are looking to start our own gigs. Being on the team raising money for MicroBlade, I can share a thing or two about that experience.
What do you say? Wed AM coffee somewhere - I know a little spot called The Meeting Ground close to Mernards on the West Side. This is locally owned and I used to play tennis with the owners a few seasons ago. It's good to support our local merchants, wouldn't you say...
