ELECTRICAL ENGINEER ORBITEC is a Madison, WI based, high-tech aerospace engineering firm involved in contract research and development of controlled environments for plants, animals, and crew, advanced rocket propulsion systems, space transportation vehicle systems and aerospace sensors and instruments. We are currently looking for a self-starter and creative thinkers with excellent technical skills and a background in power converters to join the electrical engineering team. Job Description:The Electrical Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the design and development of the electrical systems of controlled environment applications, including research projects, spaceflight hardware, and commercial products. Duties include: (1) Design and development of electrical and electronic subsystems; including design of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuitry, evaluation and test of components, circuit analysis and simulation, and troubleshooting and testing of prototype systems. Experience in the design of switching power converters and power electronics is required. (2) Documentation of electrical designs; including block diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, test and calibration procedures, and work instructions. (3) Verification of system performance in support of spaceflight qualification; including analyses in support of customer specifications, development of verification procedures, and support of qualification testing. Job QualificationsThis position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 3 or more years of design experience. Defense or Aerospace experience is a positive.Co-op and internships count toward the experience.
